Because Corporate Social Responsibility May Be The Key to Reaching That Seventh Generation
This article from today's New York Times draws comparison for the interest in clean technology to the enthusiasm for tech companies in general in the late '90s. Since this is a big interest of mine, I have started sending resumes to some of the start-ups out there. The article mentions how, apparently, a lot of MBAs are doing the same thing.

Silicon Valley is gaining jobs after five years of losses. This comes at a time when investments in "clean environmental technology" are increasing considerably. Investments in clean tech went from $34 million in the first quarter of 2006 to $290 million in the third quarter.

I started this blog just as a way to get some information about various CSR issues to people. I won't often comment too much - I'd rather let the articles speak for themselves. Sometimes, however, I can't help myself. I earned an MBA in May 2007. I will begin a job as a Business Analyst with Chevron in July. At that company and position, I hope to learn a great deal about the traditional oil and gas industry. I also hope to be able to work on renewable energy initiatives at Chevron at some point in the future.
