This article specifically speaks of Seattle retailers Recreational Equipment Inc. (REI), Costco, and Starbucks. Interesting point about REI's choice of benefactors - they give to the preservation of outdoor recreation because they won't have customers (aka they can't be sustainable) without available outdoor recreational activities.

I started this blog just as a way to get some information about various CSR issues to people. I won't often comment too much - I'd rather let the articles speak for themselves. Sometimes, however, I can't help myself. I earned an MBA in May 2007. I will begin a job as a Business Analyst with Chevron in July. At that company and position, I hope to learn a great deal about the traditional oil and gas industry. I also hope to be able to work on renewable energy initiatives at Chevron at some point in the future.
